Arts and Sciences

Arts and Sciences

Combat is just one part of the SCA. A vast amount of activity within the SCA involves Arts and Sciences, from the clothing we make and wear, to the armour constructed and decorated, to the foods cooked at feasts – generally these are all explorations into Arts and Sciences.

Innilgard has a strong presence in a number of historically based Arts and Sciences including scribal work/calligraphy, cooking, sewing, embroidery, painting, dancing, blacksmithing, armor making and woodworking among other explorations.

Arts and Sciences are by no means limited to these activities and can include almost any pursuit or activity that was undertaken in pre-17th century culture.

We host a number of Arts and Sciences competitions, locally and interstate, that are open for all to enter.

Arts and Sciences activities run from 1200 at our Regular Meetings (1100 for dance) on Sundays and we run Arts & Sciences Nights on the first Monday of each month.
The location for Monday nights is the clubroom of the ABC Building, 85 North East Road, Collinswood. There is parking available both roadside and in the attached carpark, being careful not to use the reserved spaces in the carpark, please be sure to check signage. Enter through the front door and sign in using the kiosk at the security desk in order to receive your identification tag.
