Are you passionate about history, creativity, and immersive experiences? Do you find yourself drawn to tales of knights, noble ladies, and medieval craftsmanship? If so, we invite you to embark on an exciting journey with the Society for Creative Anachronism (SCA)!

The SCA is a vibrant community dedicated to re-creating the arts, sciences, and combat techniques of the pre-17th-century world. Whether you’re intrigued by the chivalry of knights, the elegance of courtly dances, or the intricacies of medieval crafts, there’s something for everyone in the SCA.

We understand that stepping into a new hobby or community can be intimidating, which is why we’re hosting a special newcomers event tailored just for you! This is a Free Event to let you give it a try before having to commit to anything, there is an optional $10 ticket available if you would like to partake in the Medieval Feast! Join us for an immersive introduction to the wonders of the SCA!

Here’s what you can expect:

  • Demonstrations and the Oppurtunity to try Medieval Combat! whether you want to don armour, sword and shield and charge into war, or wield a dextrous rapier on the streets of fair Verona, youll find it with us,
  • Classes on Historical Arts and Crafts such as embroidery, calligraphy, weaving, sewing, brewing and much more
  • Games of chance, Games of skill and Games somewhere in between.
  • An Expansive and Delicious Feast hand prepared by our artisans.

Regardless of where your specific interests may lie, this is a great opportunity to meet fellow history enthusiasts, make new friends, and become part of a welcoming community.

Whether you’re a seasoned history buff or completely new to the world of the SCA, this event is designed to provide a fun and informative introduction to our society. No prior experience is required — just bring your curiosity and enthusiasm and an attempt at pre-17th century garb (we really do mean attempt, throw a blanket around your shoulders and call it a cloak, go as far as sewing your own Tunic, or contact us about borrowing garb for the day!)

This is a garbed event. All attendees are expected to wear at least an attempt at pre-17th century garb. If you need to borrow some clothes for the event, please contact the Hospitaller at least a week before the event to arrange to borrow something appropriate.

Participants are reminded that if they are unwell or showing cold or flu-like symptoms, they must not attend.
